Well guys, I don’t know what to do. I’ve had a few e-mails from you guys about the poll not working correctly. I want the contest to be fair, and I do NOT want to pick this round - so what do we do to make the contest fair?

Hey Guys -

It’s been pointed out that that the poll isn’t working correctly…that it’s allowing multiple votes, which really isn’t fair. I know this is a pain, but I’ve reset everything (after I wrote down the results so far) so that we can try this CORRECTLY. Multiple voting shouldn’t be a problem now, so go ahead and vote on which photo YOU think should win the House Flame Walking Cane!

Now it’s time to vote! There were six entries that the “posse” felt were good enough to be voted on by you guys, so here they are! Choose which one you think should win and check the poll! YES! Hugh won!! House, unfortunately, did not win for best drama, but Hugh won for best TV actor!!! And this from a bunch of teenie boppers!

I’ve still got to check out the show (I recorded it - I’m heading right now to watch it…) I’ll let you know what his acceptance speech was like in a few, but I wanted to update you now!

When Melanie won the House Flame Walking Cane from the first contest, she was ecstatic! She e-mailed me recently and told me the her son was even more ecstatic about her winning the cane.

I figured he must be about 15 or 20…

He’s 8.

He convinced her to buy him a cane when they were in a store one day, and then he bought a dress shirt and jacket so that he could become Dr. Gregory House.

I BEGGED Melanie for pictures.

She obliged!

Now imagine how good he’ll look when he gets the flame walking cane! Hopefully we’ll get pictures of that, too!

Melanie said that he was trying to look stern and more “House-like”, but that he couldn’t help but smile. He plans on being House for Halloween -

We have gotten some AWESOME pics in for the contest! I REALLY want to show you guys, but I’m waiting until Monday morning so that you can oooh and aaahh all at once!

There’s still time to get in on this contest! Just find, or create, the best/funniest/silliest/sexiest (any or all of the above) photo of any member of the House crew (or all together) and e-mail it to randi.morse@hughes.net - top 10 will be posted Monday morning and voting will begin! You, the House fans, will be the voters - no names will be displayed to keep the “integrity” of the game, and the voting will close on Wednesday at 12 EST.

Some people used great photos they found online, others created some amazing things…remember, if you find a picture, that’s fine, but if it’s something CREATED and not yours, it’s a no-go. You can create anything you’d like…some of the more simple ones have been liked the best so far!

What contest?

The House Flame Cane Walking Contest (the third incarnation)! We’re giving away another House Flame Cane Walking Cane from Fashionable Canes. Fashionable Canes also have replica canes of ALL the other canes from the House show, and if there’s a new one this season (which would follow their pattern), you can be sure they’ll have that too!

Anyway, for this contest, all you have to do is find the best/funniest/sexiest/whatever picture of any of the members of the House crew.

And if you’re good at designing, you can design one!

Contest ends at noon EST on Sunday, and on Monday morning we’ll have the top 10 photos up on the site (anonymously, so no one knows the names), allowing YOU House fans to vote! Voting will end on Wednesday and the winner will get a House Flame Walking Cane of their very own!

Ok, so we have seen Foreman get sick, we even had a scare with Cuddy, but what about Wilson? I have found a very rare disease called FMF (Familia Mediterranean Fever or also called Recuurent Polyserositis) that usually presents in people with Jewish backgrounds, because most Jewish people lived near the mediterranean, where the disease originated. FMF is caused my a mutation in the MEFV gene. This gene produces a protein called pryin or marenostrin. In FMF your body produces to much of it, causeing you to have abdominal episodes, or pain. They also frequently have symptoms consistent with appendicitis or cholecystitis, and may present with a fever. Symptoms may also mimic renal colic. Often patients have constipation during the attack and diarrhea after.

Of everyone with FMF, 50-60% are younger than 10 years, 80-95% are younger than 20 years, and 5-10% are older than 20 years. FMF is rare in persons older than 40 years. Now that would be a really rare disease fo Wilson to get, but i think House and his team would be up for the Challenge!

There is no cure, but it is managable with taking daily medicine called Colchicine. Their is ofcourse different doses for the severeity of the case.

I know a lot of this is confusing, that is why i am giving you the link ( http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic1410.htm ).

It really is a great (RARE!) disease. And i know that if Wilson got sick with this we would really see how much House cares about Wilson. We would also find out that House really does have the ability to give a damn about people.(haha)

She didn’t have to put it into a story, but she went the extra mile and did. The disease IS rare, and the fact that she pulled Wilson’s being Jewish into it is PERFECT! Congratulations Allison! I’ll be contacting you for your information today.

We had some excellent entries, and I want to give a shout-out to Camille, who e-mailed me quite a few diseases, all of which were great. It was a very hard decision to make, but we had a blast seeing all the diseases!

We’re having a hard time choosing a winner on this one, as the entries were so good! On top of that, my daughter (who’s 3) is going in for surgery tomorrow, so my brain is focused on her. Because of that I’m extending the contest until Wednesday.
