And The Writers Strike Is?????

Friday, November 30th, 2007

wga_logo_AP_standard.jpgLots of buzzing circulating today about the possible ending of the writer’s strike! And I’m here to tell you that the writer’s strike….

Is STILL going on.

According to Variety, the Writer’s Guild Alliance rejected the “groundbreaking” offer that was put forth by the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers (hence to be called the AMPTP, because it’s WAY shorter). the AMPTP offered the WGA more than $130 million in additional compensation to scribes over three years - but the WGA says that it’s not enough.

“That’s a little over a 3% increase in writer earnings each year, while company revenues are projected to grow at a rate of 10%,” Patric Verrone and Michael Winship said. “We are falling behind.” Verrone and Winship are the two presidents of WGA East and WGA West, respectively.

So what does this mean for us? Lots of people “in the know” are saying that this means that the strike will go on past Christmas. Some believe that it won’t end until summer! One thing’s for sure, the writer’s strike has already affected some of the best shows this season. For instance, it has caused Heroes to have the finale on Monday (and I still haven’t figured out how they’re going to ‘wrap everything up’ in one episode). And, as we know, new House episodes are being saved for the beginning of the year and for that sweet time spot right after the Superbowl.

*sigh* Poor House…

A lot of you are asking me what he’s doing in LA still with the writer’s strike still going on - I’m not sure! I have a few guesses though!

1. He didn’t know how long the strike would last and thought it best to stay in town, in case it ended.
2. He has more projects that he’s working on coming up.
3. He doesn’t want to leave the warm California weather.

I’m betting it’s either 1 or 2 - or a combination of both! What do you think??

Have a great weekend!

Where Is Hugh Laurie?!

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Everyone has been wondering, “Where is Hugh Laurie? Did he go back to England? Is he still in LA?” The answer, my friends, is solved. As for the 26th, Hugh is still in Los Angeles. The handsome hunk was seen getting into an older style Ferrari 1970 Porsche 911 with a 1-800-AUTOPSY shirt on and a bag. Where is he going?

hughnov261.jpg

Hugh was headed to the gym! He met his personal trainer (who looks like he’s a stern, yet fun taskmaster) and did some crunches…

hughnov262.jpg

Before doing some boxing! Hugh said recently that he’s taken up boxing in order to stay in shape. “It is fascinating. I swank around thinking I am a big cheese, but you do not feel like that when you are in the ring with a chap who knows what he is doing.”

hughnov263.jpg

Hey may not know what he’s doing yet, but he looks damn good doing it! Enjoy the photos and the weekend!!

hughnov264.jpg

*updated* - Thanks, Kristen, for the correction on the type of car Hugh was driving!! The hubby told me it was a Ferrari - he shall be flogged :)

It IS the Dude From 28 Weeks Later!

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

I’m usually HORRIBLE at figuring out who actors are, especially those that don’t have huge names like Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. When watching last night’s episode, however, I just KNEW that Quibb was the dude from 28 Weeks Later! Of course it helps that I only watched the show a few weeks ago, but I KNEW it was him, and it is! Check it out!

renner.jpg

renner2.jpg

His name is Jeremy Renner and keep your eye on him, you’ll be seeing him a lot. Jeremy was also in S.W.A.T. and North Country (I totally forgot about that until I checked on his background!) and he’ll be in the upcoming The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford movie that Brad Pitt is starring in soon. He also, apparently, was in a pilot for a TV show called The Oaks, but with the whole writer’s strike thing, I doubt that it’ll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Thanks for a great episode Jeremy! You played the drugged out/kid loving whacko musician to perfection! I almost wanted him to date Amber in the end!

For a great episode, check out Spoiler TV, where Katie Jacobs reveals how the actors were chosen, and why Cutthroat Bitch was let go.

Games Recap

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

409games-house.jpg

Show starts out with a bunch of band members talking about going on stage. The guy smoking a cigarette starts to destroy a brand new ’64 teardrop guitar because it looks “too pretty. Wait – is that guy the guy from 28 Weeks Later? Must Research – anyway, he starts coughing up blood (very beautiful) and passes out.

House is watching some cheesy soap in the doctor’s lounge when cuddy comes in and asks who he’s keeping – she gives him two weeks and says that if he doesn’t choose someone the pay overrun is coming out of his salary and she moves his parking lot to the E-lot.

He heads into the ER and asks Cameron for a patient when he meets Jimmy Quib, our punk rocker from before.

House: I’ve died and gone to diagnostic heaven
Cameron: His blood work showed cocaine use, alcohol and other drugs. The only mystery here is how he lived to be 38.
Jimmy: I’m 28.
Cameron: And he lies. And he’s a pain in the ass.
House: Wrap him up, I’ll take him to go.

Tonight’s Episode

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

There are only a few episodes left! ACK! Dang writer’s strike! Not that I don’t understand where they’re coming from, but does it have to interefere in my one hour of pure joy a week?! Here’s what’s coming up tonight:

04-ydwtk.jpg

When Cuddy puts the pressure on House to choose the final members of his team, House deliberately assigns the candidates to a particularly challenging case an uncooperative, over-the-hill former punk rock star with a history of drug abuse and civil disobedience. House informs the candidates their potential future depends on correctly diagnosing the patient. As the candidates race to find out if the patient is ailing due to drug abuse, an underlying disease or an unknown condition, House keeps a running tally of their efforts, making a few arbitrary point deductions along the way. Meanwhile, Wilson informs a former patient whom he had previously diagnosed with terminal cancer that he is going to live, and the news throws a wrench in the man’s carpe-diem lifestyle.

Come back later this evening for a full (and great, if I do say so myself) recap of the episode! And keep an eye on Project Blog over at Reality on Bravo while you’re waiting for the episode!

House Is On? Wait…No

Monday, November 26th, 2007

So I was watching television and doing a little work and I heard this:

Sound familiar?

Yeah! I thought that House was on!!

The song is called “Teardrop” and is by a group called Massive Attack. Here’s the video of the full song - check it out:

I’ve got to say, though, that I prefer the little pieces and not the full song!! I also wonder how it’s legal for Assassin’s creed to use the theme song to House - don’t the get permissions for that or something?!

Promo Photos and Thirteen’s Real Name!

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

I’m going to say that I’ve come down with a severe case of tiredness - probably brought on by all of the treats and turkey I’ve been eating! I did, however, manage to drag the laptop over to the couch for a few minutes to catch up on some House news - and the news is…there really isn’t any! There aren’t very many episodes left (dang it!) but there are some great photos of the four remaining cast members. OH! I DID discover what Thirteen’s real name is too! Wanna see? I’m going to put it under the photos, below the “more” cut, so that those who don’t want to know won’t have to!

amberpromo.jpg

Ack! It’s Cut Throat Bitch! Shield my eyes, please! Seriously, though, I don’t think I’d want her as my doc…she’s too focused on herself.

kutnerpromo.jpg

Ahhh, my cutie Kutner. I really like him, but as MY doc, I think not. He’d be too likely to say, “let’s just try this…JUST for the hell of it”, when he didn’t really know what was going on. I’d definitely take him over Amber, though!

taubpromo.jpg

Taub, Taub, Taub - thou shalt never be my doctor, for the simple fact that I’d be scared of what you’d tell me! I can already hear, “a nose job, a chin job, some lipo, and you’ll be a new woman!” - no, thank you!!

thirteenpromo.jpg

The wonderful Thirteen - definitely my choice for physician! She’s kind, considerate, and listens to her patients instead of jumping the gun. Okay, so she did kill a guy and his dog, but it was on accident!!

For Thirteen’s real name, click below!

Here’s wishing all of my American readers a very Happy Thanksgiving. I know I’ll be enjoying a delicious turkey and all of the trimmings - I wonder if House and Wilson spend Thanksgiving day together!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

You Don’t Want To Know - Recap

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Starts with a magician doing a trick – Kutner and Cole are in the audience! Kutner wants to go on stage but the magician picks Cole. After doing some classic “magic tests, the shackles go on. His feet are locked in place and into a large tank of water he goes. He starts struggling and then blood escapes from his mouth while Kutner and Cole try to get him out.

House comes into the lecture hall on a scooter. He tries to give a challenge but Kutner and Cole are trying to push the magician. House says that the winner gets immunity and gets to nominate two people for nomination. House tells Kutner and Cole to go and do the tests on the magician, even though he thinks nothing is wrong.

House: I need you to bring me the thong of Lisa Cuddy. Not kidding. Thong. Cuddy. Go.

Omar Epps Babyshower Photos

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

babyshowermomanddad.jpg
Omar and his “baby-mama”

Omar and his lovely wife, Keisha, had a babyshower on November 3rd, with some very interesting and famous guests! Before we get to the babyshower, however, let’s discuss the episode that is going to be on tonight. Here’s the official preview:

House encounters a magician whose heart failed while performing an underwater escape act. While the remaining fellowship candidates work to diagnose the illusionist, House is determined to prove that he’s a scam artist faking his ailments to cover up the fact that he nearly drowned during his act. During the testing, House suspects one of his own candidates may have an undisclosed illness. In the meantime, House pits his team against one another in a challenge involving Cuddy, granting the winner immunity from elimination and a chance to nominate two other candidates to be put on the chopping block.

Sounds great! Enjoy the photos and I’ll catch you back here later tonight when I put the recap up!!

Jennifer Morrison in Star Trek?

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Did you realize that they’re making a new Star Trek movie? Apparently I don’t do enough searching online, because I didn’t know that they were making a new Star Trek! This Star Trek is supposed to follow Captain Kirk and all of his friends as they go through the academy and beyond. Guess who’s playing the young Spock? Sylar from Heroes!

jennifermorrsionside.jpg

Jennifer Morrison has been confirmed and is, I believe, already filming. Sorry I couldn’t find a larger photo! Apparently Morrison is going to be playing Dr. Carol Marcus. Her character has a son with Captain Kirk! David is his name (I didn’t realize that Kirk had a son!! I really need to get out more!)

Neither Jesse Spencer nor Lisa Edelstein have any movies coming up, but Omar Epps is! He’s finished filming A Day In The Life and it’s been rumored that he’s going to be in Love Can’t Hide as well. Olivia Wilde has finished filming Fix and Hugh, of course, has Night Watchman heading to the screen soon.

No news yet on the writer’s strike, but I’m definitely a bit frustrated that there will be no more House soon! On the other hand, Hugh will get time to spend with his family, which is great! Ugh - two sides to every coin, right?

Wanna Help a Girl Out?

Friday, November 16th, 2007

I have entered into the first ever:

project-blog-logo.jpg

Project Blog is a project that is going on over at Reality On Bravo, a 451 Press blog that talks all about the great reality shows that they have on the Bravo network (there are actually some good ones! I, personally, love Top Chef. Come on - seeing people have to make a gourmet meal out of food found in a vending machine - classic!)

Project Blog is a competition that is meant to go along with Project Runway. 11 Bloggers have entered into the competition. Once a week we’ll have a challenge and will have to compete against each other to win! There are prizes to be won every week (for both the contestants and the readers that enter a comment over at Reality on Bravo), and the person that wins each week gets immunity from the next competition.

This week I had to write about why I became a blogger. PUHLEEZE check out the post and, if you like it, head on over to Reality on Bravo and vote for me!

Other than that - have a great weekend, and I’ll be sure to let you know when/if I hear anything new about the House tapings!

Wanna Win a Contest?

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Lynn over at House Is Right is having a contest just in time for the holiday season! Wanna win a 30 dollar Amazon gift card? No problem! Just head over here and leave a comment (with a valid e-mail address) on that post, and Lynn will choose a winner at random in a few days! Nice!

As for House and the crew, I’m afriad I have very little information right now. I haven’t heard that Hugh has headed home yet, but he’s extremely private and may have snuck away while no one was watching. The last pic I have of him is from November 4th, when he headed to the No Country for Old Men premiere in L.A.

hughpremiere.jpg

Lisa Edelstein, meanwhile, has been hitting the red carpet fairly heavily. Her last sighting was a week or so ago at the Lint Roller party. Looks like she brought another four legged friend! Awwww.

lisalintroller.jpg

Omar has been off the scene (possibly due to his new baby), as has Jesse Spencer. Jennifer Morrison has been seen here and there.

So what are you buying for your loved one for Christmas? It’s always hard to pick - I stop and wonder, sometimes, what gift House would get Wilson or Cuddy for Christmas - that’s an interesting thought, isn’t it?!

“Ugly” Recap

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

ugly1.jpg

Opens with a father talking on a cell and a little girl starts screaming – it turns out to be the “ugly boy, Kenny, coming to Houston Plainsboro Teaching Hospital to have his surgery. He says that it’ll be just 36 more hours until he’s “just another face in the crowd. He’s on the operation table with Dr. Chase getting ready to do the surgery. Unfortunately for Kenny, he goes into v-fib.

Back from commercial and House is staring into the camera while Chase explains to Cuddy that there is a pacing wire on Kenny’s heart. They can’t figure out what’s going on with Kenny, so he’s taking over Kenny’s care.

House: I will see you again, after I have saved his life – have a warm bath waiting.

Cuddy explains that the production company is paying for the surgery, so they have to stay. Into the lecture hall come the cameras and Dr. House, who decides to take the fellows on a walk!

House: Let’s go for a walk – walks look good on camera. They give the illusion of the story moving forward.

In order to keep the rest of the story a secret from the West Coast (and foreign coast readers), I’ve put the rest under the more tag - click more to see what happened on tonight’s episode!

T Minus…ummmm…

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

A little over a half an hour until a new episode of House! I find myself really anticipating the episodes now, because I know there are only a few new ones on the way! I’m sure, however, that the new episodes that ARE on the way will rock the “house” - heh….sorry…back joke!

Make sure to check back here for the full recap, shortly after the show’s done!
