Huddy Kiss

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

First, let me show you what I’ll be talking about right now -

Now, let’s discuss the kiss. Some people, including a commenter here, have said that they didn’t like the way that the kiss happened. That it happened due to the stress of the situation, and that there were better ways it could have been done.

I actually disagree in this case. We all know that House has a thing for Cuddy…what kind of a thing is yet to be determined (at least in its fullness). Cuddy, however, would never have gone to House and just kissed him - especially since she would never have been sure if he would have rejected her or not. It needed to happen in this type of a high stress situation.

And coming from a viewing standpoint, I loved that they stopped the music and had one note just hanging there…kind of symbolic, in a way, don’t you think?

So let’s hear it: what did you think about the much awaited for Huddy Kiss?

House 5×05 “Joy” Recap

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

House opens with a man looking at leaves out of his window. Seems like a normal man – drinking coffee, checking off….lists? Has five coffee makers on his counter. His daughter comes in and they have a very weird discussion. He goes to use the last coffee pot and it’s empty – then sees that they’re all empty, even though he just used them. Gets out more coffee and sees that the coffee pots are GONE. Yup, he’s hallucinating. His daughter is back again and says that it’s 4:30 – when just a few minutes ago it was 8:15. He’s losing track of time. Next thing he knows he’s in the living room in front of his laptop. And we go to the opening song…

House comes in and Cuddy tells him he’s late. She says they’ve got a new patient.

Cuddy: 37 year old man, recurring blackouts.
House: Tell him to switch from tequila to burbon.

House switches the conversation from the prospective patient to her potential adoption and he finds out that she’s meeting the new potential mother.

House and the ducklings are diagnosing when House does the “pick a date” scene on the board as to when Cuddy will back out of the adoption. POtW is a consumer tester. House asks them to check his home for toxins and Kutner is IN on the baby pool, under the pseudonym “Skutner”. House thinks she’ll meet the mom and bolt.

Taub and 13 are at the house and we learn that the POtW is a single dad and that he only “smelled” the coffee. Taub thinks that single parents shouldn’t be single parents.

Thirteen: My dad was great.
Taub: He might be the exception. On the other hand, you are fairly screwed up.

Thirteen finds mold behind the baseboard and begins testing the daughter for exposure to mold. The POtW’s kid goes to school and really nowhere else. Thirteen and Foreman are in the lobby and see Mr. Harmon (POtW) standing in the hallway and he keeps repeating “I have an appointment, I really have to go”. Foreman thinks that he’s asleep – sleepwalking.

Promotional Photos for 5×07 - “The Itch” and Spoilers for “Joy”

Monday, October 27th, 2008

If you’re like the majority of House fans, you’re dying to know what happens tomorrow night! Me too! Unfortunately these promo pics give us NO IDEA as to if Cuddy’s baby makes it. These are the promotional pics for episode 5×07, entitled “The Itch”, and is actually the 93rd episode overall! Seven more episodes and we’ll have hit 100! Wow!

An agoraphobic man falls ill and refuses to leave his home to be treated at the hospital. Therefore, House and the team go to his home to figure out what might be wrong. Cameron takes charge of the case as she had treated the patient in the past and she and the team figure out ways to treat him at his home. However, the patient’s condition worsens and it becomes difficult to treat him at his house, therefore House and the team plan to get the man into the hospital for surgery without causing any problems. Meanwhile, Cameron and Chase attempt to work through issues in their relationship, and House deals with an annoying itch he cannot seem to scratch, with Wilson making his own analogies about the problem.

There’s a film of smoke-like over the photos. I wonder if it’s because the man’s house is smoke-filled, but then even smoking cigarettes wouldn’t leave that kind of smoke hanging around. Any ideas?

A Lot To Discuss About House

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Well, we sure have a lot to discuss, don’t we? First I want to talk about the whole Thirteen/lesbian kissing scene thing. I, too, was surprised that it was allowed on at 8 pm - which leads me to believe that the time change wasn’t set up for 8 pm originally. But that is neither here nor there.

A lot of you have told me how much you disliked that scene, and how you dislike Thirteen in general. I can’t say as I disagree with you - I’m surprised to say that Thirteen makes me want Cameron back! I don’t have a problem with the whole lesbian thing because they did explain (sort of) why she’s going for women instead of guys, so it’s not just the writers trying to get a gratuitous sex scene in there. But I watch and wonder: will Thirteen’s life mean something? Which, I believe, is the point.

Next is the look on House’s face when he found out that Cuddy was adopting. Here it is:

Some of you have said you think House looks that way because he’s realizing that everyone’s moving on. I don’t think so - call me a romantic but I think it’s because HE wanted to be the one to be with Cuddy, and he knows that she’s not going to need him or want him around as much if she’s got a baby. Maybe he doesn’t want her sexually, but he does want her in his life, and he knows that it will change once a baby comes into the picture.

Finally some spoilers for next week’s episode - if you do NOT want to see spoilers, don’t click below!

House 5.05 - “Lucky Thirteen” Recap

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

House begins with Thirteen and another chick REALLY going at it (you’ve seen the first two minutes) – afterwards the girl (who is the Patient Of the Week, also named Spencer) falls off of the bed and begins seizing. Thirteen calls the ambulance and the POtW is taken to PPH, where she’s admitted into Cameron’s care.

Cameron finds House in the morning and is trying to pass the POtW off to him, only he is trying to look into Wilson’s office to watch something. Turns out he’s played a practical joke on Wilson that wound up with Wilson stretched out on the floor. House very nicely left a donut on a plate and a container or milk for him near where he’d land.

Wilson: The donut was a nice touch.
House: Just my little way of saying welcome back.

Cameron tells him about the patient and her problems and says that Thirteen was with her, at 3 am, when the patient took Ecstasy.

House: Thirteen was with her? At 3 am? Oh yeah – Penthouse Forum meets medical mystery.

House’s Next Two Episodes

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Okay, I’m back! I’m still slammed with work, but I can’t avoid House any longer! I’ve been so busy that I didn’t get a chance to watch last week’s episode until this morning! EEK!

The episode, however, was great, and I’m making the time tomorrow to watch the episode and to do the recap! But here are a few things to get your whistle wet before tomorrow…

Here is the first two minutes of tomorrow’s episode -

And, of course, here’s the preview from after House last week.

Below the cut (for those who don’t want to know) are photos and the synopsis of NEXT week’s episode -

No House Recap This Week

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

I’m so sorry guys - my ass is buried so far under work that I have absolutely no time to do the recap, much less even WATCH the show! I got done work last night at 11 pm - took a shower and crashed. Then it was back up to do MORE WORK! I got the opportunity to do a huge project, and with the holiday season coming (along with the price that we have to pay to put oil in our tank), I couldn’t refuse it. It will be done next week and hopefully I’ll be able to get caught up then (albeit too late for a review). If one of you would like to write a review I’d love to put it up here! Just send it to randi.morse (at) hughes.net and I’ll get the review up for everyone to read!

thank you for being understanding.

House Would Love This

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Sometimes it’s almost impossible to give money, especially when you have none to give. Other times, however, there may be something else you can give.

The annual Boobie-Thon is currently going on. This is a charity that was started to raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation. Women and men are asked to submit photos of their chests - either bared or covered. The covered ones go in one area, the bare ones go into a pay-per-boobie slot where donors who donate over $50 are able to see them. No faces are allowed on the photo. It is a great way to help raise money for breast cancer. If you can donate, please do so! If you can’t and are comfortable sharing a photo of yourself, please do that! We all know that House would support this charity with his whole…er…wallet.

You can learn more over at the Boobie-Thon Website.

Why Are House’s Viewers Down?

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

The preliminary number show so far that House had 12.66M viewers on Tuesday. Last year House had around 17M viewers at all time. What happened?! Why is the viewership down? Some theories?

1. People hate 13 and are boycotting the show simply because she’s on it. (I doubt this one is true - I mean, people hate Foreman and yet are still watching the show.)
2. The viewers feel that the medical mystery genre has come to a close. (Doubting this one as well - Fringe has become extremely popular and I believe that it’s a medical mystery as well…right?)
3. We want to see House/Cuddy get it on! (Okay, this may be true but I don’t think that’s why people aren’t watching)
4. The new time slot is annoying.

Number 4 may be the answer. I have to admit, it’s hard for me to get to the TV by 8. 9 is the PERFECT time! And what happened to moving House to Monday nights like they said they were going to do last spring? ARGH!

Why do you guys think that House is getting lower numbers this year?

Only as Smart as the Operator

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Have I told you how much I love technology? Technology is amazing. Without technology, I wouldn’t be able to use my DVR to record House every Tuesday. I wouldn’t be able to pause the show whenever there was a great quote that I wanted to write down, nor would I be able to truly enjoy the show.

The technology, however, is only as smart as the operator.

Guess who, at 8:30 last night, realized that she HADN’T set the DVR to record? Guess who went flying through the house to see if the DVR in the bedroom was recording only to be denied again? Guess who went into a rage because she missed House?

Not me - NEVER.

I caught the last half hour of House. That’s it. ARGH! And considering we have to wait 2 weeks to get a new House, it’s annoying!!

ARGH! What did everyone think of the episode? Good? Bad? Ugly?
