Close and Personal

Close and Personal With: 13

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

I’m going to be adding a new category here on Watching House called Close and Personal. This will be a place that we go in depth with the actor or actress and see where they come from, what they’ve acted in, who they’re connected to, and get to look at some great pictures as well. Up first: THIRTEEN!

Role: Thirteen
Real Name: Olivia Wilde (born Olivia Jane Cockburn)
Born: March 10, 1984
Birth Place: New York City
Parents: Leslie (a producer on 60 Minutes) and Andrew (an Irish journalist)
First Role: Skin - a television show. She appeared in 6 episodes as Jewel Goldman
Most notable role other than House The O.C. as Alex Kelly, and The Black Donnellys as Jenny Reilly
Relationships: Olivia married Tao Ruspoli, who is a filmmaker and photographer, in 2003.
Interesting Information: Olivia is actually a blonde! Yes, we have another House actress who is a blonde but has dyed her hair brunette. There are some photos below of her as a blonde - I REALLY like her as a brunette better.

She was considered for the role of Vesper Lynd in the James Bond movie Casino Royale, but didn’t get the part.

Oh - Olivia is a princess. Yes, she is an actual princess. Don’t believe me? Check it out in her own words:

“My husband’s father was a Prince, he - unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago, but he was a prince in Rome, and so, by law, and so it’s my husband, and technically, that makes me a princess and so… Very archaic thing, aristocratic title that actually the Pope gave out to a few families in Rome in the 15th Century, so you know, it’s kind of funny because in writing, occasionally, I’ll get a piece of mail that says Princess Olivia and I’ll get really excited and keep it for a year. But it is - yeah, I’m not a princess on set though.”

Another quote from Olivia:

“Yeah, I think there was no other profession for me. I was either going into an insane asylum or to be an actor. Because I think it is for a lot of people. If we didn’t have this profession, what would we do? I’m so grateful that this tendency switch to different characters and talk to yourself can be legitimized and get paid for it. So, I always wanted to do it.”

So there you have it - Princess Olivia Wilde, one of our favorite new actresses: Thirteen!

Click on the thumbnails to make them larger - there are some pictures of her as a blonde and of her with her husband, Tao. If you do NOT want to know who makes it through House’s process of elmination, don’t click the more tab. News has come through about who has signed contracts. If you’re impatient, like me, click away!
