Fox’s All Star Party at the Pier had some huge stars! All the Fox celebrities showed up, including Hugh, Omar, Olivia, and Kal! Absent were Jesse Spencer, Jennifer Morrison, and Lisa Edelstein (and RSL, who’s never at these parties).
Unfortunately this year I don’t see any pics of Hugh on bumper cars, but there is a cute one of the three new ducklings!
I got a desperate email from a reader this morning who was providing me with the news that Hugh has, apparently, purchased a house in the United States. She also asks that I refrain from posting images or the address of the property.
“I think Hugh deserves a bit of privacy, don’t you?” she asks.
Yes, I do. I will refrain from posting these photos, or from saying where you can see them. I wanted to write about him purchasing a house in the US, however, because I hope it means that he will no longer have a rocky relationship with his wife or kids. I am hoping that this means that Jo and the family will be moving over here, at least part of the year, so that they do not have to be separated as much as they usually are. Hugh and his family deserve not only privacy, but also the ability to be able to spend quality time together.
My lovely husband was being..well..rather lovely tonight and looked up some Hugh news. What he found was a hilarious video of Hugh and Ellen trying to figure out what slang meant from each other’s country! You definitely have to take a look at it!
I’ve been neglecting this site since the season ended - its always hard to keep readers when the season isn’t going, and its hard to write when you know that NO ONE is reading, but I just couldn’t resist this -

Ack! Once again I slow down on posting! I’m sorry! I think its because in Vermont summer has hit with a vengence, and with it comes outdoor activities like baseball, swinging, and chasing after our two puppies! Well, there’s that, and there’s the fact that I’m trying to avoid thinking about the new episode until Monday.
Why?
Because it makes time go slower! Of course I’m extremely excited about the new episode on Monday evening and can’t wait to cozy up in my bedroom (Scott will be watching WWE’s Raw on our living room TV, so I get the bedroom - which is cozier anyway) and bring along all of my favorite treats. What will you be snacking on during House? I usually can’t snack much simply because I’m typing, but when I watch a rerun I like to have a glass of milk and something…anything…that has chocolate in it. Snacking is serious business, you know! You can’t have something to snack on that makes too loud of a crunching noise, and it has to be something that you don’t have to pay too much attentino to, because you don’t want to have to tear your eyes away from the screen!
Hugh’s Schwepp’s commercial is out! Yay! It’s in Spanish! Well…umm…yay! LOL. Here is the commercial where Hugh is OH too sexy and a translation of what is being said

First I had the “all the info in one place” post a few mintues ago, and now I’ve got even MORE information! Apparently my brain has escaped the confines of my head lately to not catch all this stuff. Big news first: Hugh will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday, the 25th!! YES! If you’re not a night owl, set your DVR to record! I’ll try to snag video of it when it becomes available for those who can’t catch it.
Secondly, there are some candids of Hugh floating around during shooting for the show the other day. Looks like they’re shooting outside? Hmmm…this could be interesting. You can see him chatting it up with a crew member and playing with a baseball (someone said it was a cricket ball, and I honestly don’t know what a cricket ball looks like!).
Dr. House needs to take a round out of me, as I’ve been seriously slacking lately. I think that happens when I haven’t seen a new episode in a few weeks (or MONTHS dang it). I’ve been doing the quick search for news, but not much has popped up. There are a bunch of spoilers going around, which many readers don’t like so I’m avoiding for the moment, and there is the news that Cameron and Chase will NOT be going back to the regular team.
Say what?
That’s right. Creator David Shore said in an interview recently that while Chase and Cameron may get a bit more screen time than they had before, they will not be rejoining House’s regular team. In an interview with The Watcher, David Shore had a few interesting things to say - such as this little gem of wisdom:
I’m going to say something you’re readers aren’t going to like, but as someone running a television show, you have to be very careful – people think they want something and they do want something, but it’s not what they need, shall we say, and it’s not what the show needs. It’s great that they like those characters.
The most obvious [comment] is people saying, “I love the show, can’t you just make House a little nicer?? No. That’s sort of the most egregious example. No, you like him because he is who he is. And if he wasn’t who he is, you wouldn’t like him as much. He wouldn’t be the same person.
And the show as a whole falls into that. And so yes, I changed it. A little bit. And you have to be really careful with these things. It’s a real challenge. You want people to want more of things. You have to be careful on what you deliver.
He’s got a good point, but at the same time it still left me feeling like “Oh - you know what we want better than we do, huh?” But then again, he’s the one raking in the millions, not me!
He also was pretty quiet when the interviewer asked him if anyone was leaving from the show.
Something is happening at the end of this year which I think is pretty significant. I’d rather not say what it is.

Then we’ve only got four left until the end of the season. May 12, “House’s Head”: “In Part 1 of the two-part season finale, House is in a bus accident and loses four hours of his memory. He slowly pieces together that a fellow bus passenger was exhibiting signs of a deadly illness. But the details of who it is or how House got on the bus in the first place are locked inside his brain, and he’s desperate to add up the fleeting flashes in order to save someone who might not even know he or she could be dying.”
May 19, “Wilson’s Heart”: “In Part 2 of the two-part season finale, clues inside House’s head hold the key to a patient’s condition, and House’s friendship with Wilson is tested beyond limits as murky memories from the bus accident the night before threaten to change their lives forever.”

Thanks to reader Kole, we now know that Hugh Laurie wasn’t at the “Idol Gives Back” taping that was done yesterday. Kole says:
Hey, just wanted to give you all the heads up. I went to the Idol performance at the Kodak Theater today (they filmed today and it airs Wednesday). Hugh wasn’t there but Jesse Spencer was and he did an absolutely fabulous job on the violin. The band was great and everyone was in high spirits so it’s worth watching even though Hugh was MIA.
No Hugh? Awww…but at least we get to see sexy Jesse, right?!
I’ll also have to force myself to watch it because I run the Brad Pitt Watch website, and even though I’m definitely not an Idol fan, the fact that I get to see Brad and Jesse means that I’ll try to suffer through it…but it’ll be so hard *grin*.
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock lately - or dealing with a bunch of sick kids as I have - you’ll know that the Band from TV is going to be on American Idol on April 9th! The latest news is that Teri Hatcher is going to be singing with them, and many people have made comments to me wondering if she is a decent singer or not. The truth? I have no idea! She’s definitely not my favorite actress, but we’ll see how she does with the band.
Will Hugh be playing with the Band from TV? I believe so. He’s in LA taping, and I’m sure Fox will be pushing him to appear simply to promote the show - that, and he loves playing piano and giving back to charity. I’m pretty sure he’ll be there, and I will definitely be watching - the minute I can grab a YouTube, it’ll be up!
Also appearing that evening will be: Bono, Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Peyton and Eli Manning, Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood.
Love Brad, love Miley (ssshhh - that’s a secret), and I’m definitely looking forward to watching American Idol for the first time ever. Yes…I said for the first time. Sorry, I’m not a huge Idol fan! Do you still love me?
I’m SO sorry guys!! First we had a few really slow news days, then my entire family got struck down by the Martian death flu that is making its way around the nation. But I’m back! I promise! Oh, and if you have a lot of buildup in your chest, Mucinex really does work!

All of the chat boards are talking about the newest commercial, where Hugh is apparently on a bus and it goes over sideways - but I can’t find it! Times Online had a great interview with Hugh - you definitely have to check it out. Here are a few of the snippits that I loved the best.
“I am being very handsomely paid, though. My ship has come in and I’ll be forever grateful.? He has made three series of House to date, is halfway through the fourth and is signed up for three more insert me here singing the Hallalujah chorus. Will he then be able never to work again? “That would depend on how long I live,? he replies (he is 48), with impeccable logic. “If I step under a bus in a week’s time, the answer is yes.?
His sons are 19 and 17, his daughter 14. With another three-and-a-half series to go, his family might now move to California. “It’s taken us a long time to adjust to the permanence of it. The first year I was in a hotel. Everyone else in the show was signing leases on houses and I said, ‘You’re mad. We’re only going to last a month.’ I literally didn’t unpack. I suppose it’s a form of pessimism: if a thing is going well, it’s only a matter of time, tick tock, before someone’s going to take it away.?
He says he would struggle to settle permanently in America. “I do feel very foreign there, as if I’m on safari, looking at the exotic animals and the way they behave. Then again,? he adds, “America is made up of people who don’t feel American until they do, so I’m not alone in that.?
He has, however, bought a ping pong table. “That’s a real luxury.? Is he better than his children? “Er… I’m not bad actually,? he admits shyly. I say I thought he was supposed to be Mr Self-Deprecation. “Yes, I spoke to my shrink yesterday on the phone in LA – you have to have one before they let you in – and I mentioned I was doing this [interview]. I said, ‘I can’t bear going through the same f****** dance of despair. I’m just going to say what I feel.’ And he encouraged that. So yes, I’m quite good at ping pong.? But is he better than his children? “Er… that’s a parenting issue. If I announce publicly… Er… I’d better skip over that one.? His children, he says, are “an unending delight?.

Countdown to a new House folks…just a few more weeks!!!
Okay, apparently I’m a moron (don’t tell my husband I said this, or he’ll lord it over me). I didn’t realize until this afternoon that Hugh is playing the voice of Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. in DreamWork’s newest movie, Monsters vs. Aliens, coming out in 2009.
How sweet is this! Hugh will be a cockroach! Ha! The synopsis on IMDB states:
When a meteorite from outer space hits a young girl and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years.
I love watching animated movies (I have 2 children and am subjected to them on a weekly basis), and I can’t WAIT to hear Hugh animated! Any guesses on if he’s going to have his regular accent or if he’ll put on his American accent?!
I think that’s Hugh’s character, right on the tall girl’s arm, dressed in the doctor’s coat. Ha! He eschews a coat when he’s playing House, but his animated character wears one! How funny is that?!
Hugh’s acting alongside some great names, such as Reese Witherspoon (Susan Murphy / Ginormica), Paul Rudd (Derek), Keifer Sutherland (General W.R. Monger), and Stephen Colbert (The President).
Hugh was spotted in LAX again on the 9th, coming back from somewhere. I’m going to take a wild guess and say that he escorted his wife home to London, saw his children for a short time, then came back to attend the charity function and work on House. I love these photos - I love that he’s got headphones on and that he is sort of smiling, but has one hand clenched a bit. I also love the lady sitting in the back by the bank machine that looks “oh so happy” to be there. If I happened to catch Hugh, you’d never see me with a face like that…actually, you’d probably see me laying prone on the ground!
I get Hugh and Jesse on Monday morning! Oh what a way to start off the week! Hugh, Jesse, and our lovely Lisa made it clear that the House crew is back in town yesterday by going to the “Handle With Care” charity event that was set up at the Sofitel Hotel in Los Angeles in order to benefit IU-Kenya and Ampath. Jesse was actually the host! Way to go Jesse!!
Some people on the blog-o-sphere are discussing Jesse’s hair and how long it is. What do you think about it? I’m still undecided - I didn’t care for Lisa’s top, but it was great to see her again! It’s been a month or two since I’ve gotten any good photos of her! What I love, though, is that the scruff is back, which means that House is definitely, definitely filming again! Hello Dr. House! We missed you!

Wow! It’s been an exciting few days in my house - one of my walls is getting demolished and turned into a half wall (my step-dad is a carpenter - yay!), so things have been a bit messy. Fortunately some of my readers have taken up the slack for me - thank you guys!! First, only because it is not a spoiler, Mick found the song! Remember the song that was played when House was firing during the final round of competition? Everyone was looking for that song. A few short months later and Mick has discovered someone who played it in Australia! It is a perfect rendition of the song - have a listen!
