The premiere of Monsters VS Aliens was last night and Hugh showed up for it! He hasn’t been at the many premieres around the world yet, but he did manage to get to this one. And it looks like Jesse Spencer came out to support his House co-star!
The day before, Jennifer Morrison was seen running at a charity marathon. I’m still not sure what charity it was for, but I do know it looks kinda weird getting ready to run a marathon with huge hoop earrings in!
So congratulations to Hugh for winning last night! I’m so happy!! He did an amazing job last night and his speech was hilarious (I’m still looking for a YouTube for it). And it looks like some of the crew got to chat with some of the celebrities that were there, including Olivia Wilde hanging out with Angelina Jolie (how shocking was THAT?)
Hugh managed to sneak into the SAG awards and guess what? He won for best actor in a drama! I’ll put the Youtube up of his speech (which is hilarious) as soon as I can find it!!! Congrats Hugh!!
House, unfortunately lost for Best Dramatic Series….dang it.
Looks like the House crew has showed up enforce at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards! Or, for us normal people, the SAG awards. Even Kal Penn is there! So far we’ve got Lisa Edelstein, Omar Epps, Jennifer Morrison, and Kal, and I’ll keep adding photos as they arrive, although I’m wondering if Hugh is going to sneak in the back door again as he did for the last award!
Unfortunately both Hugh and House got screwed at the Golden Globes (yes, it’s true, I’ll say it - that show NEVER gets what it deserves..or rarely, anyway), so it’s time to discuss the fashion of the House ladies during the Golden Globes!
Up first: Jennifer Morrison
Well this is a sight better than the dress she wore the other night, isn’t it? It’s a bit bright, but it has a very classic line to it and a classic look. The problem this time is above the bustline…
What’s up with the earrings? I mean, they’re not horrible, but coupled with the hairstyle that looks like it came out of a hairstyle design book from the 70’s and the skin tone and makeup make her look like she’s closing in on 40!
How about Olivia Wilde?
Very classy dress. I like the color, and even though I’m still kinda iffy on the rushing (roushing? How DO you spell that…) on the bottom of the dress, and on the belt, overall I think the look is excellent, including the hair being left loose to hang down her back.
And last, but certainly not least, Lisa Edelstein!
This dress bothers me, because I could love it. I could really, absolutely love it - if only it weren’t for the half-bow thingie on the front. That just throw me off of the dress entirely! The shoes, though, are amazing…
There’s no way my feet would ever look that good in those shoes.
So what do you think about the ladies of House and how they looked at the Golden Globes?
The above photo is seriously HQ and is awesome when in full size - and would make a great desktop! Click on it to check it out in HQ
To start with: congratulations to the entire cast and crew of House for winning the People’s Choice Award for Best Television Drama! You certainly deserve it - although I don’t classify House as a drama, more as the best hour of TV on all week (although I am starting to get almost as hooked on Fringe…thanks to it showing after House for so long.)
Let’s get down to business now, shall we? I got the HQ images of our lovely House ladies so that we can see how bad the damage was…and for a few, it was pretty bad. Let’s start with my favorite fashion victim lover, shall we?
Jennifer Morrison, step on down!
At first glance I thought “oh - she’s wearing a nice little silver dress. Appropriate length, good color, nice!” then I took a closer look. My guess? Jennifer headed to New York City for the New Years Eve ball dropping ceremony and decided to steal a few pieces off of the ball because she was “inspired”…either that or she took down the disco ball she had in her apartment and decided that some recycling was in order.
Seriously, what was she trying to accomplish with this dress? Yes, the color and length are great, and the shoes are killer - her hair looks good and even her makeup is fine, so why strap yourself into a dress that looks like it was a castoff from Janet Jackson’s canceled tour? (maybe THAT’s where she got it from…)
One thing that you don’t see from the front is this:
She.Has.No.Curves. The dress suggests curves from the front but once you see the side you realize that there’s nothing to her! Apparently she’s decided to drop even more weight since Olivia came on board and out-skinnied her, because I don’t remember Jennifer ever looking this thin.
Come on down Olivia Wilde!
At first glance this dress is extremely classy. I love how wispy it is and how it reminds me of classic Hollywood with a modern twist to it. I absolutely adore her arm bands and her makeup is flawless. I even love how a simply ponytail looks great with the dress. The only complaint I have is that she looks to skinny! Come on Olivia - put a little weight on! On one side it looks like the dress is hanging a bit, but I think that it’s just the fabric draping in a strange way. I just wish I could see what her shoes look like!
Hello Lisa Edelstein! (sorry - was unable to find any HQ versions of her entire dress)
Nice long black dress - classic. A little peek-a-boo down at the bottom of the dress, which I adore, and a matching bag - nice. How can you go wrong with a long black dress?
Like this.
Dear God! It looks like she snagged the plant holder that my grandmother used to use to hold her spider plants with! You know the one - it’s the same one almost every grandmother had - the thickly braided one that holds the spider plant suspended in the air so that the vines can drape down and annoy you? And your grandmother got bonus points if hers had beads in it (my grandmother’s did).
And then, as if that weren’t bad enough, there’s round shiny things on her chest?! What happened Lisa?! First the dress that the 70’s forgot and now this hot-grannie style top?
And let’s not even point out that during her portraiture sitting she had a little something right there….
It was not a good night for Jennifer or for Lisa. But there was someone who managed to look absolutely fabulous (aside from Olivia and all the men, that is)…
Jesse’s girlfriend? Looked hot! I love the dress, and I especially love the little handbag that she’s got going on as well! She looked really, really good.
All the men looked great, including your favorite and mine, Omar Epps (his suit was great but his attitude was sorely lacking.)
Here’s a few videos of the wins last night, in case you didn’t get the chance to see them. Let’s hope that we not only win on Sunday, but that Lisa and Jennifer get nicer dresses!!
Just when I think the only news that I’ve got to share is the House marathon going on for Christmas, I check Wireimage and find that Morrison and Wilde have been making the Hollywood rounds again! yes! This means we get to critique their outfits again!
First up is this ensemble that Jennifer wore to the Conga Room grand opening in LA on Dec. 10th.
I actually like the top of this outfit. It shows off her slenderness and while it’s a bit risque (you wouldn’t want to wear it to a PTA meeting), it’s very appropriate for the grand opening of a club. Then we get to the skirt. What happened? It looks like someone took a grass wall off of a tiki hut and wrapped it around her waist!! A potentially good dress destroyed by the skirt.
Next up is the dress she wore to the HFPA Salute to Young Hollywood party on Dec 17th.
I’m torn on this one. On one hand, I love the colors of the dress. On the other hand, it looks like a cross between a sarong and a muumu that you’d find on an old woman in Florida! Come on Jen! We know you can do better than this!!
Let’s go to Olivia! Olivia wore this outfit when she attended the HFPA Salute to Young Hollywood party on Dec 17th as well.
Very pretty, very appropriate. The belt cinches her waist nicely, and although I always say she could use a few pounds (so could Jennifer), the dress shows off her figure nicely. But what happened with the hose?! Black hose?! Really?! It looks like black tights that I would get out of my 4 year old daughter’s dresser drawer!
The next day Olivia attended Flaunt Magazine’s 10th anniversary party and holiday toy drive.
Very nice trench! I love how it flares at the bottom and how attractive it looks - it almost looks like something you’d find in Angelina Jolie’s closet! But what’s under the trench?
A….pillowcase?! With pockets?! What is it with pockets and dresses lately ladies?! I don’t mind white dresses, but this one has no shape to it what so ever. The only good thing about this outfit is that the chunky necklace matches the shoes - and that’s it.
Come on House ladies! You can do better than this!!
Fox has released new promotional pictures for House - so far these four are the only ones that I’ve found, but hopefully we can find some of House, Wilson, Cuddy, and the other ducklings!!
As for the photo of Olivia Wilde - I actually like it! I think it’s really cute - whoever did the photo shoot needs to stand up and take a bow. I even like the one of Foreman!
Jennifer Morrison attended the opening of the D&G Flagship boutique last night. When you look at the top picture, she looks great, doesn’t she?
Once you see the rest of the dress, however, you may feel a big differently about the outfit…
While I have no problem with the top of the outfit, the bottom leaves a bit to be desired. It just doesn’t look that attractive. and it has pockets? Weird…
Apparently Olivia Wilde has been taking notes from last year when Jennifer Morrison went around to different events in dresses that did nothing for her - witness this dress. Olivia went to the GQ “Man of the Year Award) on November 18th and wasn’t looking her best. I know you can’t always look amazing, but this dress really does nothing for her.
Jennifer Morrison, on the other hand, has learned her lesson! She went to the 5th anniversary of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fun on November 17th and looked amazing! I think she looks a bit thin, but then again, it’s Hollywood and they all look thin. This dress, however, looks fabulous on her!
Lisa was at the 15th annual Lint Roller Party presented by Best Friend’s Animal Society on November 13th, and all I can say is - Lisa? What happened? This dress/jacket ensemble is very unflattering and is definitely not something that I enjoy seeing her in - her dog, however, is ADORABLE!
I spent my weekend relaxing and enjoying time with my family. We had fun doing crafts and going shopping and spending time playing the Wii (we’re totally addicted).
The House crew, however, had a much busier weekend than I did!
On Thursday night, Hugh was spotted at the BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards looking absolutely divine in his tuxedo. I love a man dressed up!
Jennifer Morrison was at the 2008 Hollywood Domino Tournament To Benefit The Art Of Elysium. She looked good! I’m still not a fan of the blonde hair, but the dress is very nice.
Lisa Edelstein was at the premiere for the Warner Bros. movie RocknRolla. Looking, as always, absolutely stunning.
Jesse Spencer was at the AFI FEST 2008 Centerpiece Gala Screening Of “The Wrestler” looking scruffy - just the way I like him!.
So I’ve been watching the Emmy’s since a bit past 8 (long day) and so far, no Hugh? I’ve been looking for pictures of him through Wire Image and through other sites and I’ve seen none?!?! Have you?
Here, however, are tons of photos of Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Morrison, and Olivia Wilde arriving at the Emmy’s. My opinion? Their dresses all look great, but my favorite would have to be Lisa’s. She looks beautiful - and the new haircut?! Nice! What do you think?
I know I just posted about the season premiere (ON TONIGHT), but I found this long interview over on Hollywood.com that you have to read! Here are a few snippits:
On the dimensions of House he’s excited to explore: Laurie: There are places to go, there are layers to be revealed, situations to put him in that will reveal anxieties and desires that he has. In fact, those are things that we have actually done so far this season. In the first half dozen shows, we see House in some pretty unusual situations. We see him in ways that we haven’t seen him before, dealing with his own loss, his loss of Wilson, potentially the loss of a parent and just dealing with his own grief, how grief shows itself in him. There are ways in which it surprises him as well as everyone else, but I feel just so lucky to be driving this beautifully constructed motor car. I’m just thankful that they remember to put gas in the tank, if that analogy makes any sense at all. But it is very much [the writers’] car. They designed it and I drive it where they tell me.
On his recent decision to re-up for several more seasons of the show: Laurie:I certainly feel very, very blessed to be doing what I’m doing, playing this character which is a character that I still am fascinated by and love, I would say. Actually, I think that’s part of an actor’s job, to love the character that you play, in a way. I love the show, the people I’m working with – I’d be foolish not to go as far as the show goes, to go the distance with the show. If that’s where it takes us then that’s where it takes us. Then it may not. It might all end in a week’s time, but that’s partly me. I’m always thinking that way. I mean, I think this occurs in a woman’s life. It’s an enormous thing to happen, you know, your husband is cheating on you and what do you do and who are your allies and who comes to your aid? And all these things are, I think, relevant and equally true now, so it’s just a different observation, different observations on an age-old trouble.
On the long-simmering prospect of a House-Cuddy romance: Edelstein:I wouldn’t want to ruin anything, but they’re definitely exploring the House/Cuddy relationship further without actually losing the dynamic that exists between them. That kind of edgy dynamic does not go away. David Shore never writes in a straight line. So it’s been a lot of fun…I think that if you asked Cuddy, I think for her she deeply admires this human being as much as he’s a pain in the ass or a pain in the arse, depending on who you talk to. I think she sees the best in him on that level even though he makes her life very, very difficult at times.
On Kutner’s approach to life and death: Penn:At the end of the last season, you find out what had happened to Kutner’s parents. When he was six he saw them get murdered, basically, so his view of life and death is maybe a little more grounded in something. He’s mourned something so severe, so something that would happen to Amber is just part of life and death. But he also asked her out after Wilson had already beaten him to it, so he probably had some sort of a private grieving process. When he said goodbye to her it certainly wasn’t this big dramatic, emotional thing for him. He just did what he had to do, kind of smiled at her, and that was it.
On Thirteen’s life-altering medical revelation: Wilde:At the end of Season Four we learned that Thirteen indeed does have Huntington’s Disease, which she suspected because of her mother. It’s House that encouraged her to find out. That was a difficult decision for her, I think, partly because of Amber’s death, she decided to go ahead and find out. Not only does she find out that she has Huntington’s but it’s very bad, her diagnosis, in that she doesn’t have too long. Eight to ten years is the life expectancy. Many of those years will be miserable dealing with the side effects of the disease. In the beginning of Season Five we pick up with her dealing with that. She is a woman who really likes to be in control. She doesn’t like to have anyone pity her. She doesn’t like to bring her personal life into the office. She would rather have no one even call her by her real name then have anyone know anything know anything about her.
Would you believe that I took a trip to Tahiti for a month where I did nothing but watch House reruns and sip fruity drinks with umbrellas in them? No?! I wouldn’t either. Actually what happened is really benign - the last month of the summer just got away from me. Between all of the normal everyday life stuff, a lot of not-so-great things happened and, the next thing I knew, it was the middle of September. I apologize greatly for taking a month (or so) off, but please know that I’m here! I’m back! And now that the kiddos are back in school (one is in preschool which just started) and the new season is rushing right up to us, I’m ready to get the show on the road!
One of the good things that happened since I’ve been gone is that the gurus at 451 Press changed the layout a bit here, so I can post tons of pics in a little gallery, making it easy to see new pictures of the show, which I love.
There are TONS of things to discuss so let me gather my thoughts and I’ll be back with some spoilers and other information about the new season - I’m also working on getting some stuff for giveaways (yay), so make sure you keep coming back!
For now, here are some HQ photos from the season promotional photo shoot!!
I’m so, SO sorry! I’ve been badly neglecting this site this summer - I apologize profusely! I’m slammed with work right now, but am also digging up some juicy details about the next season, and the actors, so until then, enjoy this hilarious scene between Cuddy and Cameron, which was re-taped with the two actresses acting like “Valley Girls”
Dr. House needs to take a round out of me, as I’ve been seriously slacking lately. I think that happens when I haven’t seen a new episode in a few weeks (or MONTHS dang it). I’ve been doing the quick search for news, but not much has popped up. There are a bunch of spoilers going around, which many readers don’t like so I’m avoiding for the moment, and there is the news that Cameron and Chase will NOT be going back to the regular team.
Say what?
That’s right. Creator David Shore said in an interview recently that while Chase and Cameron may get a bit more screen time than they had before, they will not be rejoining House’s regular team. In an interview with The Watcher, David Shore had a few interesting things to say - such as this little gem of wisdom:
I’m going to say something you’re readers aren’t going to like, but as someone running a television show, you have to be very careful – people think they want something and they do want something, but it’s not what they need, shall we say, and it’s not what the show needs. It’s great that they like those characters.
The most obvious [comment] is people saying, “I love the show, can’t you just make House a little nicer? No. That’s sort of the most egregious example. No, you like him because he is who he is. And if he wasn’t who he is, you wouldn’t like him as much. He wouldn’t be the same person.
And the show as a whole falls into that. And so yes, I changed it. A little bit. And you have to be really careful with these things. It’s a real challenge. You want people to want more of things. You have to be careful on what you deliver.
He’s got a good point, but at the same time it still left me feeling like “Oh - you know what we want better than we do, huh?” But then again, he’s the one raking in the millions, not me!
He also was pretty quiet when the interviewer asked him if anyone was leaving from the show.
Something is happening at the end of this year which I think is pretty significant. I’d rather not say what it is.
Huh?! Oh now my interest is even more peaked! You can see the entire interview here. We’ve only got 10 more days until the new House episode!! Then we’ve only got four left until the end of the season. Here are a few pics from Mr. Nice Guy, the episode airing on the 28th of April, and under that you’ll find the synopsis for all of the rest of the episodes.
April 28, “No More Mister Nice Guy”: “House thinks an emergency room patient has a bigger problem than the E.R. initially diagnosed based on the fact that the patient is ‘too nice.’ Meanwhile, House and Amber (guest star Anne Dudek) are at odds vying for Wilson’s (Robert Sean Leonard) time and attention in an all-new episode.”
May 5, “Living the Dream”: “In an all-new episode, House is convinced that one of the actors (guest star Jason Lewis) on his favorite soap opera, ‘Prescription Passion,’ has a serious medical condition, but has to take matters into his own hands when both the actor and House’s own team dismiss his assessment, believing that nothing is wrong with the soap hunk.”
May 12, “House’s Head”: “In Part 1 of the two-part season finale, House is in a bus accident and loses four hours of his memory. He slowly pieces together that a fellow bus passenger was exhibiting signs of a deadly illness. But the details of who it is or how House got on the bus in the first place are locked inside his brain, and he’s desperate to add up the fleeting flashes in order to save someone who might not even know he or she could be dying.”
May 19, “Wilson’s Heart”: “In Part 2 of the two-part season finale, clues inside House’s head hold the key to a patient’s condition, and House’s friendship with Wilson is tested beyond limits as murky memories from the bus accident the night before threaten to change their lives forever.”
