Hugh Animated?!

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Okay, apparently I’m a moron (don’t tell my husband I said this, or he’ll lord it over me). I didn’t realize until this afternoon that Hugh is playing the voice of Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. in DreamWork’s newest movie, Monsters vs. Aliens, coming out in 2009.

How sweet is this! Hugh will be a cockroach! Ha! The synopsis on IMDB states:

When a meteorite from outer space hits a young girl and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years.

I love watching animated movies (I have 2 children and am subjected to them on a weekly basis), and I can’t WAIT to hear Hugh animated! Any guesses on if he’s going to have his regular accent or if he’ll put on his American accent?!

monstersaliens1.jpg

I think that’s Hugh’s character, right on the tall girl’s arm, dressed in the doctor’s coat. Ha! He eschews a coat when he’s playing House, but his animated character wears one! How funny is that?!

Hugh’s acting alongside some great names, such as Reese Witherspoon (Susan Murphy / Ginormica), Paul Rudd (Derek), Keifer Sutherland (General W.R. Monger), and Stephen Colbert (The President).

Big Stan

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Did you know that Jennifer Morrison has a role in an upcoming movie titled Big Stan? To tell you the truth, I’d seen the name on IMDB under her but I wasn’t quite sure what it was and really didn’t take the time to reserach it. Big Stan is a comedy directed and starring Rob Schneider. I believe that Jennifer plays his wife. I honestly didn’t think it was her until I snapped a few screenshots, and even NOW its still hard to believe that’s her under all that Aquanet! Here are a few screenshots and the trailer is below - will you be seeing Big Stan?

Writer’s Strike Over?

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

There is some talk online about the writer’s strike being over. Here’s what we know for SURE: the writers are in favor of the strike ending sooner rather than later, and the vote will happen sometime in the next 48 hours.

So what happens when the strike ends? According to Ausiello at TV Guide, House will air again this season - he says that House is expected to shoot 4 to 6 new episodes to air in April/May.

Let me come out as saying: that would rock.

In Other News:

Remember the little movie that Hugh was doing that everyone was psyched about? It was called Night Watchmen, right? Nope, Hollywood has decided to change the title to Street Kings. This is what gets annoying - have you ever really wanted to see a movie that you’ve seen a preview for and then had it disappear entirely? It’s because the name gets changed before it hits the theaters. So now you know: if you see a movie called Street Kings, Hugh is in it!

But seeings as it’s so far away, and it’s a Sunday, we’ve got some time to kill. So, tell me, what are you doing for Valentine’s day?! What are your best ideas for people who are trying to save money? What does your loved one do that you HATE, or LOVE during Valentine’s day? We’ll make a list and I’ll post it and maybe it’ll help other people to get their loved ones a great Valentine’s day!!

Who’s “Ugly”?

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

For starters, it seems as though everyone is freaking out over whether or not Michael Michelle is going to be on House permanently. I do NOT have confirmation of that, but I do have her scheduled to be on the next episode, entitled, “Ugly”. So who’s ugly? Everyone has seen the pictures of a young man who has a severe facial deformity. Turns out he’s in House’s care because just before his operation, he had a heart attack, so House and the fellows have to figure out what his cardiac problem is. This is (I believe) the reason that the camera crew is following them around - they’re doing a story on the patient.

But who is this young actor? Do you have any idea? I didn’t, until I looked up his name. Take a good, LONG look at the pic. You can even click to make it really big so that you can get a close and personal look. Do you have any idea who the actor is?

Jennifer Morrison in Murder of Princess Diana

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Morrisondiana.jpgA reader recently wrote me asking how come I had not mentioned the Princess Diana movie that Jennifer Morrison was in. The movie was called “The Murder of Princess Diana” and aired on Lifetime. Why didn’t I comment on it? A few reasons - one - I’m not too happy with Jennifer Morrison right now. Yes, I think she’s beautiful and extremely talented, but for some reason she’s rubbing me the wrong way. Two - I enjoy learning about history, and I’ll be the first to wonder about conspiracy theories, but from the review I read, this movie went from conspiracy theory to pure fiction. And three - I forgot it was on and didn’t record it.

If I would have remembered it was on, I might have set it to record just to see exactly what it was all about (even if just so that I could tell you guys), but I honestly forgot! I’ll keep checking to see when it replays, but I’m thinking it won’t be soon. The review I’ve read are terrible - from the critics to the regular Joe Schmoe viewers.

Did anyone watch it? What did you think?

What Has The House Crew Been Up To All Summer?

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Everyone knows that Jesse and Jen are getting married, and EVERYONE knows that Hugh is starring in Night Watch, but what have some of the other characters been up to?

Lisa Edelstein has been seen on the red carpet lately, but has no other projects in the works.

Robert Sean Leonard has kept to himself all summer - he has no other projects planned and I hope he enjoyed his time off!

omar.jpg

Omar Epps has been a busy boy. He filmed a movie called “A Day In The Life”. Here’s the basic synopsis of the film:

Synopsis: “A Day In The Life is a Hip Hop, action-drama, musical, feature film starring Sticky Fingaz who is making his directorial debut. The film includes many of Hollywood’s elite actors and actresses such as Mekhi Phifer, Omar Epps, Michael Rapaport, Bokeem Woodbine, Drena De Niro (Robert’s daughter), Tyrin Turner, Faizon Love, Fredro Starr, Troy Garity, Treach, Mike Williams and Malinda Williams just to name a few.

The film begins as the sun rises, it’s just another day in the life of Sticky’s character and concludes before sunset of the same day. The story takes the audience on a wild journey through one day as witnesses to an intense street war between two rival crime families. Sticky’s clan is the underdog of the two families and is pushed into the war by Black, played by Faizon Love, who heads the more powerful crime family. Black’s family draws first blood by raiding one of Sticky’s drug houses and killing two of his men. From that point on, Sticky’s character struggles with the moral dilemma of either calling off his life of crime or seeking revenge and continuing the ongoing feud.

The word is out that Black has put a contract out on Sticky’s life, using a professional hitman, played by Mekhi Phifer. Sticky’s decision becomes even more complicated when his girlfriend, Heaven (played by newcomer Melinda Santiago), breaks the news that she’s pregnant. On top of all his problems, two detectives played by Michael Rapaport and Tyrin Turner are now hot on his trail.

Sticky’s character is caught between good and evil. He seeks guidance from his older brother, played by Bokeem Woodbine, who has just touched down in Los Angeles from New York. Bokeem’s character gives Sticky his blessings while his cousin Phya, played by Sticky’s real-life first cousin Fredro Starr, seeks revenge for the blood already shed by Black’s army in the ongoing clash between the two crime families. He lastly confides in “P, his longtime friend/business partner, and mob boss of a powerful and wealthy family, who’s character is played by Drena De Niro.

The film concludes with Sticky’s character making the conscious and moral decision to flee the country with Heaven, the mother of his unborn child. They attempt to fly out on a private jet which Omar Epps’ character provides. Before boarding the plane, a vicious gun battle ensues between the majority of the key players in the film. Who will remain standing when the smoke clears?

What a change for Omar - after working with white people most of the time, he’s surrounded by african americans!

He’s also “attached” to Love Can’t Hide - not much is known about this one yet, but it’s due to be released in 2008.

Hugh in The Next Harry Potter?

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

So Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix is out - (and I will be heading this weekend to see it). Now everyone’s talking about who will play the roles in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

J.K. Rowling has said that she’d like Bob Hoskins to play a role, and the director has confirmed that they are working on a deal with him. MTV has got a blog going about who they think would best play some of the roles. Check out this description in the book of Rufus Scrimgeour, the Minister of Magic:

“[He] looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp.

Hmmm - rangy, loping grace - wire-rimmed spectacles - slight limp…..

HUGH!

In fact, that’s what the MTV people are saying. They believe that Hugh would be the best person to play the Minister of Magic in the next movie. I think it’d work - not only is he an amazing actor, but he’s british, which is sure to warm the heart of J.K. Rowling. What do you think?

It’s a german site, and you have to pay to see the large photos, but the thumbnails really give you an idea of what’s going on.

Laurie Cast in Night Watch

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007
hughhottiesitting.jpg

It’s been recently announced that Hugh Laurie is cast to be in a movie that begins filming this summer called Night Watch.

Other big-name stars in this movie includ Keanu Reeves, Forest Whittaker and Chris Evans.

The synopsis?

The story centers on a veteran LAPD cop (Reeves) who turns to alcohol after the death of his wife. The cop is forced to go up against his longtime mentor (Whitaker) when he is implicated in the execution of a fellow officer. Laurie and Evans would play internal affairs officers.

Wow - okay, first of all the last few movies that Keanu Reeves did were box-office smashes (hello - the Matrix trilogy?), secondly, Hugh’s playing a GOOD GUY?!?! Something wrong here. I will definitely be watching this one!
