Can’t Find the Video

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

What’s the world coming to when I can’t find a video of The Band from TV’s performance on Idol Gives Back last night?! Gah! I’ve been looking all over and all I can find is their rehearsal video on YouTube - no video of the actual performance. Dang it! I’ve heard, however, that it is available to purchase on iTunes (of COURSE I don’t have an iPod).

I do have a video of their performance at Comedy for a Cure on Sunday - I LOVE this song!

Hugh Not At Idol taping

Monday, April 7th, 2008

JesseSpencer.jpgThanks to reader Kole, we now know that Hugh Laurie wasn’t at the “Idol Gives Back” taping that was done yesterday. Kole says:

Hey, just wanted to give you all the heads up. I went to the Idol performance at the Kodak Theater today (they filmed today and it airs Wednesday). Hugh wasn’t there but Jesse Spencer was and he did an absolutely fabulous job on the violin. The band was great and everyone was in high spirits so it’s worth watching even though Hugh was MIA.

No Hugh? Awww…but at least we get to see sexy Jesse, right?!

I’ll also have to force myself to watch it because I run the Brad Pitt Watch website, and even though I’m definitely not an Idol fan, the fact that I get to see Brad and Jesse means that I’ll try to suffer through it…but it’ll be so hard *grin*.

Band from TV

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock lately - or dealing with a bunch of sick kids as I have - you’ll know that the Band from TV is going to be on American Idol on April 9th! The latest news is that Teri Hatcher is going to be singing with them, and many people have made comments to me wondering if she is a decent singer or not. The truth? I have no idea! She’s definitely not my favorite actress, but we’ll see how she does with the band.

idolgivesback.jpg

Will Hugh be playing with the Band from TV? I believe so. He’s in LA taping, and I’m sure Fox will be pushing him to appear simply to promote the show - that, and he loves playing piano and giving back to charity. I’m pretty sure he’ll be there, and I will definitely be watching - the minute I can grab a YouTube, it’ll be up!

Also appearing that evening will be: Bono, Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Peyton and Eli Manning, Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood.

Love Brad, love Miley (ssshhh - that’s a secret), and I’m definitely looking forward to watching American Idol for the first time ever. Yes…I said for the first time. Sorry, I’m not a huge Idol fan! Do you still love me?

BACK!

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

I’m SO sorry guys!! First we had a few really slow news days, then my entire family got struck down by the Martian death flu that is making its way around the nation. But I’m back! I promise! Oh, and if you have a lot of buildup in your chest, Mucinex really does work!

So where are we at for house? Well, first of all, a few familiar faces are on the new TV Guide cover! Check it out:

tvguidecover.jpg

How sweet is this cover! Secondly, there is a new House commercial and I can’t find it! All of the chat boards are talking about the newest commercial, where Hugh is apparently on a bus and it goes over sideways - but I can’t find it! If anyone has a link to this, can you please let me know? Thanks so much!

Times Online had a great interview with Hugh - you definitely have to check it out. Here are a few of the snippits that I loved the best.

“I am being very handsomely paid, though. My ship has come in and I’ll be forever grateful.â€? He has made three series of House to date, is halfway through the fourth and is signed up for three more insert me here singing the Hallalujah chorus. Will he then be able never to work again? “That would depend on how long I live,â€? he replies (he is 48), with impeccable logic. “If I step under a bus in a week’s time, the answer is yes.â€?

His sons are 19 and 17, his daughter 14. With another three-and-a-half series to go, his family might now move to California. “It’s taken us a long time to adjust to the permanence of it. The first year I was in a hotel. Everyone else in the show was signing leases on houses and I said, ‘You’re mad. We’re only going to last a month.’ I literally didn’t unpack. I suppose it’s a form of pessimism: if a thing is going well, it’s only a matter of time, tick tock, before someone’s going to take it away.

He says he would struggle to settle permanently in America. “I do feel very foreign there, as if I’m on safari, looking at the exotic animals and the way they behave. Then again, he adds, “America is made up of people who don’t feel American until they do, so I’m not alone in that.

He has, however, bought a ping pong table. “That’s a real luxury. Is he better than his children? “Er… I’m not bad actually, he admits shyly. I say I thought he was supposed to be Mr Self-Deprecation. “Yes, I spoke to my shrink yesterday on the phone in LA – you have to have one before they let you in – and I mentioned I was doing this [interview]. I said, ‘I can’t bear going through the same f****** dance of despair. I’m just going to say what I feel.’ And he encouraged that. So yes, I’m quite good at ping pong. But is he better than his children? “Er… that’s a parenting issue. If I announce publicly… Er… I’d better skip over that one. His children, he says, are “an unending delight.

This is one of the better interviews I’ve seen in a long time - you must check it out here
Countdown to a new House folks…just a few more weeks!!!

David Morse in TV Guide

Monday, March 24th, 2008

MorseHouse.jpgHello House fans! I’m sorry that I disappeared for a bit, but there hasn’t been much news House wise, and the family kind of took over the house for Easter. But fortunately a little bit of news has come my way about House, so I’ve got something to share! The most recent TV Guide has an interview with David Morse, and they touch a bit upon his appearance on House! My husband’s favorite actor is David Morse, so he was ecstatic when he saw that David Morse was going to be in a few episodes, and even though he hated that he was a “bad guy”, he loved watching him. So what did TV Guide ask Mr. Morse?

TVGuide.com: How did it feel to stick it to Hugh Laurie’s curmudgeon on House?
Morse: [Laughs] Right now it feels painful because there are so many people who hold it against me! I had worked with David Chase, who ran Hack, and when they came up with the idea of a character who could stand up to Hugh Laurie’s character, he called me to see if I would be interested. I had not watched the show, so I mentioned it to some people I was with, and they said, “You have to do it!” It is such an unbelievable show and this character frankly needs somebody to go after him and put him in his place. So I said I’d give it a shot. It truly was great fun. Hugh is just amazing, and he really is a formidable character to go up against.

I know that, for awhile, he was one of the most hated people in the House world, but I’m sure we can forgive him now, right? Right?

Hugh Animated?!

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Okay, apparently I’m a moron (don’t tell my husband I said this, or he’ll lord it over me). I didn’t realize until this afternoon that Hugh is playing the voice of Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. in DreamWork’s newest movie, Monsters vs. Aliens, coming out in 2009.

How sweet is this! Hugh will be a cockroach! Ha! The synopsis on IMDB states:

When a meteorite from outer space hits a young girl and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years.

I love watching animated movies (I have 2 children and am subjected to them on a weekly basis), and I can’t WAIT to hear Hugh animated! Any guesses on if he’s going to have his regular accent or if he’ll put on his American accent?!

monstersaliens1.jpg

I think that’s Hugh’s character, right on the tall girl’s arm, dressed in the doctor’s coat. Ha! He eschews a coat when he’s playing House, but his animated character wears one! How funny is that?!

Hugh’s acting alongside some great names, such as Reese Witherspoon (Susan Murphy / Ginormica), Paul Rudd (Derek), Keifer Sutherland (General W.R. Monger), and Stephen Colbert (The President).

House Loves Soaps? *gasp and shock*

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

The other day, Ausiello made a statement that had all House fans in shock.

Sex and the City studmuffin Jason Lewis has signed on to guest-star in a pivotal post-strike episode of House that will reveal a shocking secret about Doc Crotchety: He’s a closeted soap fan!

Wow! Gasp - shock - Dr. House likes soap operas?!?! Holy moly! Since when?

Apparently Ausiello realized shortly afterwards that he had made a mistake and instead then posted this:

JasonLewis.jpgSex and the City studmuffin Jason Lewis has signed on to guest-star in a pivotal post-strike episode of House that will reaffirm Doc Crotchety’s obsession with dayime television.

According to my candy-striped Princeton Plainsboro mole, House suspects that his favorite soap star (Lewis) may unknowingly be sick when he starts exhibiting strange symptoms on the air. Not one to wait around for the mystery ailment to cure itself, House takes matters into his own hands. I’ve got $100 that says he barges onto the set and causes a scene, prompting Cuddy to channel her inner Linda Blair.

Any takers?

Well ya know Ausiello, since you’re always right, and an obvious House fan, I think I’ll take that bet!

But, on the other hand, Jason Lewis - HOOOTTTTTT!!

Thanks to Anzelique for the reminder to post this hilarious story!

Lisa and Jesse All Over!

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

Not only were Lisa and Jesse at the Handle With Care Charity even the other day, they’re popping up all over the place! First, Lisa was spotted at the Future Fashion L.A. Cocktail Reception on the 13th. A few people have said that she looks like she’s lost weight - I’m not sure…what do you think?

lisaeco3.jpg

And Jesse - oooooh Jesse - recently did a photo shoot for Cosmo magazine. All I can say is - Mmmmmm….

There and Back Again

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Hugh was spotted in LAX again on the 9th, coming back from somewhere. I’m going to take a wild guess and say that he escorted his wife home to London, saw his children for a short time, then came back to attend the charity function and work on House. I love these photos - I love that he’s got headphones on and that he is sort of smiling, but has one hand clenched a bit. I also love the lady sitting in the back by the bank machine that looks “oh so happy” to be there. If I happened to catch Hugh, you’d never see me with a face like that…actually, you’d probably see me laying prone on the ground!

Why I’m Drooling on Monday Morning

Monday, March 10th, 2008

I get Hugh and Jesse on Monday morning! Oh what a way to start off the week! Hugh, Jesse, and our lovely Lisa made it clear that the House crew is back in town yesterday by going to the “Handle With Care” charity event that was set up at the Sofitel Hotel in Los Angeles in order to benefit IU-Kenya and Ampath. Jesse was actually the host! Way to go Jesse!!

handle1.jpg

Some people on the blog-o-sphere are discussing Jesse’s hair and how long it is. What do you think about it? I’m still undecided - I didn’t care for Lisa’s top, but it was great to see her again! It’s been a month or two since I’ve gotten any good photos of her! What I love, though, is that the scruff is back, which means that House is definitely, definitely filming again! Hello Dr. House! We missed you!

Enjoy the photos!

House Spoiler and Song

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Wow! It’s been an exciting few days in my house - one of my walls is getting demolished and turned into a half wall (my step-dad is a carpenter - yay!), so things have been a bit messy. Fortunately some of my readers have taken up the slack for me - thank you guys!! First, only because it is not a spoiler, Mick found the song! Remember the song that was played when House was firing during the final round of competition? Everyone was looking for that song. A few short months later and Mick has discovered someone who played it in Australia! It is a perfect rendition of the song - have a listen!

Secondly, if you would like to know a spoiler about the season finale, click more - if you are one of those people who hates to know what is giong to happen ahead of time, click away from the website now…

Hugh and Jo for a Spin

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

First of all, it is now verified that Jo is with Hugh in LA. Hugh and Jo took a little spin on his beloved motorcycle around Los Angeles yesterday. I know that some of you do not like to see these kinds of photos because you feel like the paparazzi should leave them alone (a point that I agree with most times), so I’m putting the photos of the two of them below the cut. If you’d like to see them, just click more! And yes, they are great photos…

Hugh Sighting! Back to Work!

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

I’m sorry - I’ve been neglecting this blog a bit, but it hasn’t been for lack of interest…really…nothing’s been happening in House world! The actors and actresses are all staying busy and there hasn’t been much of a sight of anyone…until yesterday, that is.

Its no secret that we have until April 28th to wait for a new episode of House, but I can feel the excitement in the air now, because Hugh is BACK in LA! The sneak was caught entering LAX yesterday with a LOT of luggage. This is actually much more luggage than Hugh usually carries (actually, he generally doesn’t have any luggage with him when he travels back and forth), and it has been noticed that Hugh had a rather feminine bag with him, leading us to believe that he’s either switched teams or JO IS IN LA WITH HUGH!

hugh-arriving1.jpg

hugh-arriving-2.jpg

So the man is back in town and filming will be commencing shortly, I’d presume - YES! I don’t know about you, but my hopes are rising!!

Life Intervenes

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Sorry guys! It’s been a crazy week, and I’ve let House slide by a bit because, well, there really wasn’t much news! I was really excited when I heard that the shows were going to start again, but then I got a bit bummed when I realized it would be the end of APRIL before we saw a new episode - not that I don’t like reruns, but I really want to see more of this season and see if the old ducklings get more air time and how cut throat bitch and Wilson do together!

The news I’ve missed? Omar Epps won an award! He won the award for best supporting actor - congrats Omar!!

And some trailers have turned up for Street Kings! Here’s the best one I can find so far (I’d forgotten how much I missed Keanu in a modern law-type role), and I’ll put more up if I can find it!

Doris Egan Interview

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

DorisEganShot.jpgI stumbled upon an interview today that was done just recently by Doris Egan, one of the co-producers and writers on House. She talks about what she was doing during the strike and about how many episodes are left…here are a few snippets…

Q: What’s the status of the 2007-2008 season of House?

A: We’re working hard to get four episodes out, after which we’ll just keep rolling into the next season. Production should start up in a couple of weeks.

Q: With the strike, the writers couldn’t work. However, I somehow doubt that you’ve spent these months vacationing! Can you share with us some of the things you’ve done during the strike?

A: I’ve done strike work – I’ve answered phones at HQ, taped signs, and done general work for United Hollywood (UnitedHollywood.com, the website for collective writer information during the strike – and, hopefully, for continued writer networking going forward). I also began research for a novel that I’ve had in mind for years; there was one big sticking point, but I had a breakthrough on that a few months ago. The solution means I’ve now got an endless amount of background reading, though.

Q: How do you go about developing a story? Do you start with an illness and work everything in around it, or do you start with a story surrounding the main characters and find an illness to plug into that story?

A: All of the above. I tend to prefer starting with a character and an interesting situation, and finding an illness that matches; but other times I’ll have an illness in my back pocket that I’ve been looking for a chance to use. And sometimes a character idea and an illness meet in the middle.

You can see the full interview here. Pay special attention to the last question and answer - it’s hilarious!
