Golden Globes and the Last Episodes
Alright folks, first thing’s first - there will be no actors from House at the Golden Globes. Actually, there won’t be any actors at all at the Golden Globes…or so says the WGA.
“After considerable outreach to Golden Globe actor nominees and their representatives over the past several weeks, there appears to be unanimous agreement that these actors will not cross WGA picket lines to appear on the Golden Globe Awards as acceptors or presenters. We applaud our members for this remarkable show of solidarity for striking Writers Guild of America writers. “ - or so says WGA president Alan Rosenburg.
Unless you’ve been in another world, you’ll also know that the Late Show with David Letterman (and Craig Fergeuson’s show) are both back on air, thanks to an agreement reached between World Wide Pants (Letterman’s production company) and the WGA. Here’s what Rosenburg had to say about actors going on Letterman vs. other nighttime talk shows.
“We have also been asked about our position regarding network talk shows. We urge our members to appear on the two programs that have independent agreements with the WGA, The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. However, actors who are asked to appear on the struck network talk shows will have to cross WGA picket lines, creating the same situation that has led to the consensus among actors to skip the Golden Globes.”

So when can we next see House? Well, the holiday episode, “It’s a Wonderful Lie”, will be airing on January 29th at 9 pm. The last episode of House for this season will be taking place in the much-coveted slot right after the Superbowl (GO PATRIOTS) on Sunday, February 3 at 10 p.m. (or whenever the Superbowl ends).

The episode is entitled “Frozen” and guest stars Mira Sorvino. Sorvino plays as a doctor who is stationed in the South Pole and is treated and diagnosed by House and the crew via webcam (THAT’S an interesting idea…I’m sure Dr. House will love it, as he won’t have to deal directly with the patient!)
I’m horrible when it comes to matching names and faces, and I knew that I knew who Mira Sorvino was, but I couldn’t figure it out…a bit of research proved where I knew Mira from…

She’s ROMY! I wonder if any smart-ass comments will come from House about Romy and Michelle…hmmm…I also wonder if Fox will be playing the show a week or so before the episode!
After the Frozen episode, it looks as though we’ll be having to deal with re-runs until…well…until who knows when! It all depends on the WGA. I just hope that the strike doesn’t go on SO long that House becomes forgotten!
Have a great weekend!
