Hugh Laurie wins Screen Actors Guild Award
Surprised? Of course not! We knew he’s win the Best Actor in a Drama Series award didn’t we?
I’m sorry to say that I missed the awards. So I can’t tell you if he looked as surprised and startled at the win as he did for his Golden Globe win, but you know, I bet he did. If anyone saw the awards I’d love to hear how he took his win.
I do know that when Eddie Murphy got up to accept his award for best supporting actor in Dreamgirls he started off his speech in a British accent then quickly dropped it saying “When the English people come up here and get awards, they’re so smooth, and I feel goofy!”
This of course caused our beloved Hugh Laurie to retort in his own acceptance speech “I’m British, which accounts for why I’m so ’smooth.’ ” . Hugh, you’re still smooth, even with your American accent.

Hugh Laurie does a phenomenal job as House. He’s the right mix of hate-able and sympathetic and brilliant.
He deserves all the recognition he gets for this role. Of course, the excellent writing and the rest of the staff deserve recognition too.

CONGRATS to our Hugh!!
No one is more deserving of this award.
I DO wish that DEADWOOD would have won over GREY’S though. The acting is AMAZING on DEADWOOD.
Hugh didn’t seem as surprised…got up very quickly. And I didn’t see anyone with him. No Jo this time I don’t think.
