New Episode Tonight!
Tonight is a new House episode! Woot! I forget how much I miss it when it’s gone for just a week! Tonight’s episode, Locked In, looks like it’s going to be great!
We previously discussed, I’ll be doing a recap this week instead of the chat - hopefully you’ll like that better! (I’m such a person pleaser).
I did get out to see Monsters vs Aliens this weekend with my kids, and it was great. I hadn’t realized that Hugh could do such an awesome evil laugh! I need to hear more of it! You don’t get to hear his character talk too much, as he’s not the main character, but he’s definitely in there.
While the movie was good, it felt like it was missing…something. I’m not sure what. It just didn’t leave me feeling as though it was done like a lot of animated movies do. For instance when I watched Wall-E with my kids, I felt like I’d spent an hour and a half watching a classic movie and it felt solid. This one? Not quite so much. While the gags are funny and there is definitely a lot to laugh at, it just didn’t feel as good to me, and my kids both agreed (they’re 4 and 8).
Did you watch Monsters vs Aliens? What did you think?

Loved the episode!!!
Just wanna share that I noticed something great and curiosity-burning at the very ending of this episode!!!
This was my initial inkling: that Dr. House HAS this Locked-in Syndrome AND THAT
Dr. House had a motorcycle accident because his muscles just froze and his reflexes just stopped working!
OMG, it all makes sense to me!!!!
In the latest episode’s very final scene,
when Dr. House himself was inside the elevator AND Dr. Wilson was outside the elevator simultaneously saying something to House,
the camera focus suddenly became hazy
JUST LIKE when the camera was fuzzy as the majority of the story unfolded via the point-of-view of Mos Def’s sick character!!!!!
Could it be that
[1] Dr. House DOES HAVE this so-called “Locked-in Syndrome”
[2] Dr. House’s being stricken by this Syndrome was what prompted him to go to New York to see some other doctor
[3] This Syndrome was what led Dr. House (who’s been regularly riding his motorbike for a long time already, ever since Season 1) to get into an accident.
Remember,
Mos Def’s character also was riding a bike (that is, a non-motorized bicycle). Mos Def’s character was on a bike when he saw an open car door ahead AND YET he suddenly stiffened up and lost control of his voluntary reflexes, which rendered him unable to avoid the impending accident.
What if that’s parallel to what happened to Dr. House?
What if House was also riding his motorcycle somewhere in NY, when an obstacle lay ahead of him and he saw that obstacle BUT can’t move his muscles in order to maneuver his motorcycle and move out of harm’s way?

Watching the preview montage for next week and the unnamed tragedy I knew that I was right. They never showed Forman but they did show the bracelet. I bet Cameron replaces him. And with the lovey dovey action between her and Chase, 13 is going to feel miserable. I bet that she is the next one to exit.

I thought this was a great episode and continues the tease about what House does with his time away from the hospital and the team/Wilson. That he went to see a shrink is a HUGE deal doesn’t matter that House says he is not going back. He tried something NEW.
Mos Def was perfect as the PotW, he is a fine actor and I always try to catch the things he is in.
The trend I see this season is House trying new things, trying to find something he hasn’t tried before, at least as long as we have known him.
He tries to buy the friendship of the “investigator” when he is on the outs with Wilson, acknowledging he needs people or at least a friend,
He tells Cuddy the truth about something in his past (being popular when he was in school) and she does not believe him, a departure from trying never to confess to anything emotionally real
He seemingly has empathy for a few of this season’s patients, although he denies it when called on it
He challenges Forman about the meaning and sacrifices of love
He constantly is challenged by the various patients’ belief in God and the Afterlife
He found a way to use methadone and be out of pain and once again shows that his drug addiction is related directly to his pain and when the leg is not hurting, he stops abusing the Vicodin
Looks like next week’s episode is an even stronger push on House to believe in something ephemeral, like tragedy and meaning in death
Wonderful episode!

Terrific episode!
House” season finale news:
Carl Reiner will guest star in “Both Sides Now,” which focuses on a man (Ashton Holmes of “A History of Violence”) whose left brain and right brain operate independently, which means he lives with two different personalities and has no control over his actions, according to a Fox source.
This makes diagnosing him doubly challenging, as the two sides of his brain struggle for dominance and it becomes increasingly difficult for House and his team to figure out the problem. As a result, the team comes up with some “alternative methods” to get him to cooperate.
In the meantime, Cuddy also must find an unusual approach to convince House to complete his clinic hours, which is where Reiner’s character comes in. He plays a clinic patient who gets House’s attention.
The season finale airs May 11.

I liked your recap but was unable to comment. Is there something wrong with that link?
Any nurses or drs. here? I was just wondering if they can turn off the pain reflex in the brain?
I’m not so sure House went to see a shrink in N.Y. And this thing about Wilson’s diet is strange. Wilson is a big boy. I think he knows what he can eat.
