Whatever It Takes Recap

The show starts with a woman doing some serious racing (she get up to over 300 mph). The suddenly sees the track get really long. When the reporter was interviewing her, BIFF showed up (Biff – remember him – from Back To The Future?). She suddenly starts seeing and hearing things in slow motion and she passes out.
Intern: That’s your breakfast?
House: Technically it’s Wilson’s lunch
House is talking with the interns about the new case (the drag racer) and a man with a suit walks into the lecture hall. House reluctantly goes with the guy in the suit. He shows House that he’s with the CIA and says that they believe one of their employees is the victim of an assassination attempt.
Kutner: (about the CIA guy) who’s your friend?
House: We use the term Life Partner

House doesn’t believe that the man is working with the CIA until they get to the roof and there’s a helicopter waiting for them.
Meanwhile Foreman and Brennen are checking out the racer and say that she needs to have an MRI, even though foreman says that her symptoms are just from heat stroke.
“What a man? starts playing while House is on the helicopter (ha – too funny) – it’s Foreman telling House that he’s going to release the patient – just when he says that, the patient starts having a seizure and her eyes are going all funky. They believe it’s “Miller-Fischer?, an inflammatory disease. The patient doesn’t believe Foreman when he tells her and she starts yanking her cords off.
House meets Michael Michele and his phone starts singing “what a man? again – the screen says “cutthroat bitch? (HA!), so he turns it off. The Interns want to pretend to be House to trick the patient into taking her meds, but Foreman won’t allow it.
Foreman: House isn’t here. We’re not going to act like him.
She starts running a fever, which means that she doesn’t have Miller-Fischer.
Back to House, Michele, and another consulting doctor. She says that she can’t tell them much.
Other consulting doc: What can you tell us?
House: yeah, did Oswald really have sex with \Marilyn Monroe?
The patient is covered with what looks like boils. He’s bone thin and looks disgusting.
House: Cool.
The fellows don’t want to do what Foreman says – they want to run tests to make sure that it’s an autoimmune disorder before they give her meds. They get three hours to do tests.
Back to House. He tries to get more information out of Michele, but all she’ll tell him is that the patient spent time in Bolivia.
House: Who are you going to kill in Bolivia
Michele: We don’t kill anyone
House: I’m sorry – who are you going to marginalize in Bolivia?
They start treating the patient for radiation poisioning. The fellows believe that the patient has something other than MS (they think she’s got Lupus – haven’t they learned that it’s NEVER lupus?)
They go to Cameron and she agrees that it’s possible that it’s lupus. Two of the fellows put her on steroids to treat for lupus, and suddenly the patients legs are numb.
Patient “John? suddenly goes into a coma-like state (turns out House took the iodine treatment away because he believed that it was pancreatitis).
Back to the fellows – Foreman is pissed because they disobeyed his orders. Brennen thinks that it’s Polio, but all of the docs believe that he’s nuts. Foreman tells him to get off of the case.
House believes that John’s got blood poisioning, so Michele agrees to treat her for cancer. Foreman shows up in the ER and dresses down Cameron, who goes right to Chase.
Chase: I think that for someone who’s not involved in his team – you’re REMARKABLY involved in his team.
House calls Wilson to check on the treatment for blood poisoning who doesn’t believe that he’s really at the CIA.
Wilson: you’re either sprawled out on the floor with an empty bottle of vicodin, or you’re sprawled out naked on the floor in front of your computer with an empty bottle of Viagra.
House tells Wilson to call Langly and gave him the extension. He then turns to Michele.
House: You know, I have an open position on my penis….wait…that didn’t come out right.
Michel: As tempting as a position on your STAFF is, I like it here.
Wilson calls the CIA headquarters and gets House.
House: You’ve got to get down here – they have a satellite aimed directly into Cuddy’s vagina. I told them the chance of invasion is slim to none…
(White doc) Is knocking at the window with some paperwork. He tells Foreman that he tested the patient for polio and it came out positive.
Cuddy shows up in Wilson’s office and he asks where House is, but she doesn’t believe that he’s with the CIA, so she says that House is going to do twice his time in the clinic and Wilson is going to do twice that.
Wilson: Why are you punishing me more than him?
Cuddy: Because House never learns – you might.
Back to John – he’s losing his hair, which means he doesn’t have cancer. The other consulting doctor is yelling at House for being stubborn and for not listening. He says it’s too late to treat for radiation poisioning, but House has a different idea to treat the patient.
Foreman apologizes to Brennen, and he wants to give her some vitamin C in order to try to stop the polio. Turns out it was a treatment in the 50’s.
Meanwhile House has brewed up an organic treatment (experimental) and Foreman and crew are giving high doses of vitamin C to their patient.
John tells House that he spent 40 days in Carnival of Bolivia – but the Carnival is only for 8 days. House figures out that John was in Brazil, not Bolivia, and that he ate a lot of Brazil nuts, which caused the problems he has now. Basically, he got nut poisioning.
Back to the patient – she’s getting high dose vitamin C treatments and she felt it when Foreman pricked her foot.
House tells Michele that there’s a position for her on is staff – that he could teach her a lot of techniques.
Michele: I know hot to kill a man for my thumb.
House: Actually I was just trying to make another euphanism for sex.
Michele: So was I.
Cameron visits Foreman and admits that she misses people doing whatever it takes to get the job done.
House shows up back in the lecture hall. Foreman says that the first blood from the patient didn’t have polio in it. It turns out that Brennen faked the tests and gave the patient stuff to make it look like polio. He was trying to get funding and recognition to help people test for polio. House tells him that he’s going to quit, and tells Foreman to wait for awhile before calling the cops on him.
Cuddy wants to know where House has been – he says that he was in the Hamptons helping some rich kid treat his son’s problems. Cuddy laughs and says that there’s no way he would do that.
House: I know how to kill a man with my thumb.
Cuddy: Who doesn’t?
Michele says that she’s there to take House up on his offer. He says that he lives a few miles away, but she says that’s not the offer she wanted to take him up on, and that she gave her notice at the CIA.
We have a new fellow?!

Is Michael Michele going to become a regular cast member? What’s going on? Is this a case of “jumping the shark?” Too many people, too many gimmicks this season. Bring back Carmen Argenziano!!!!
