You Don’t Want To Know - Recap

by Randi

Starts with a magician doing a trick – Kutner and Cole are in the audience! Kutner wants to go on stage but the magician picks Cole. After doing some classic “magic tests, the shackles go on. His feet are locked in place and into a large tank of water he goes. He starts struggling and then blood escapes from his mouth while Kutner and Cole try to get him out.

House comes into the lecture hall on a scooter. He tries to give a challenge but Kutner and Cole are trying to push the magician. House says that the winner gets immunity and gets to nominate two people for nomination. House tells Kutner and Cole to go and do the tests on the magician, even though he thinks nothing is wrong.

House: I need you to bring me the thong of Lisa Cuddy. Not kidding. Thong. Cuddy. Go.

Kutner’s with the magician testing his heart and Thirteen comes in to try to help. She’s trying to talk to the magician and he’s trying to do a test. She chooses a card and after she shuffles gives it back. The magician picks a card – not the right card. He tells Kutner to check his wallet. Kutner tosses the wallet at the magician and when he opens it up it bursts into flame! He closes it, smiles, and opens it again to reveal Thirteen’s card! Immediately the two doctors become interested in how he did it.

Amber and Taub are watching Cuddy – Amber says that they should work together – one winning, the other protecting the other. Taub tries to spill water on Cuddy to get her to take off her thong, but it didn’t happen. Kutner reports to Foreman who suggests getting an MRI on the magician.

Amber’s in one of the clinic room lighting up a cigarette, trying to start the sprinklers in order to get Cuddy wet. Cuddy, unfortunately, wasn’t in the right room and didn’t get wet.

When Kutner tries to do the testing on the magician, he complains about his stomach hurting and they discover that he has internal bleeding. When they’re presenting to House, Taub walks in and throws a pair of black panties on the table – House says they’re not Cuddy’s because she’s wearing a red bra today.

House: what, I’m not the only one who noticed. That means the downstairs will match.

House figures out that Amber and Taub made a deal with each other and Amber takes her panties back. House thinks something’s up with the magician – how he started bleeding and screaming so fast.

House: You guys ever wonder how he was going to get out of that water tank?

He goes into the operating room and takes the key out of the guy’s stomach. House meets with the magician, who asks him to pick a card.

House: Too much trouble – can I just pick my nose?

House picks a card and the magician throws the cards at the glass wall – when he does, House’s cards stick to the other side of the wall – much like David Blaine does. As House is looking at the card, amazed, the magician’s nose starts to bleed profusely.

House says that the underwear challenge is on hold when Cole pulls out a pair of red thongs. House thinks that he’s lying. The team starts trying to diagnose the patient – Amber thinks it’s a problem around the heart, and Taub thinks that he’s doing coke.

House calls Thirteen into his office and is trying to figure out why Thirteen accidentally dropped paperwork earlier in the day.

Thirteen: I dropped a file, House – I start bleeding from the eyes, I’ll be sure to make an appointment.

Kutner and Taub find rabbits and think that maybe the rabbits he has gave him a disease. House is with the patient and tries to get the magician to explain to him how he did the trick. The two go back and forth and the magician pickpocket’s House’s vicodin.

House: If the wonder’s gone when the truth is known, there never was any wonder.

House goes to the pharmacy to refill his vicodin and tosses his bottle onto the floor so Cuddy will bend over and get it. When she does he notices that she’s not wearing underwear.

Cuddy: Of course I am!
House: A skirt that tight I can tell if you’ve got an IUD. Have you seen Dr. Cole?

House sees that Cuddy is blushing when he asks if she’s seen Dr. Cole. So now House is trying to find out how the magician did his trick AND how Cole got the panties. They discover that the magician had bleeding around his heart and House sees that Thirteen can’t put a pen into the cap without some effort.

Cole’s got the magician in the MRI when the magician suddenly says that he’s going to die.

Magician: This time tomorrow – I’ll be dead.

During the MRI, Amber is trying to get Cole to keep her, when they discover that the patient is bleeding all over the place. Back in the lecture hall they’re all discussing what’s going on with the patient. The magician has a grand mal seizure and Cole and Kutner try to help the magician, who goes into another seizure.

House and Wilson are playing foosball.

Wilson: In some cultures, hiring someone to steal someone’s panties is considered wooing – you should move there, because here it’s just creepy.

Thirteen and Kutner come into the room and they get ordered to do some more tests on the patient, and House notices that Thirteen has shaking hands. Meanwhile, Taub tries to bribe Cole with $5,000. House thinks that the patient has Amaloydosis and wants the crew to treat for it, but Foreman says “no. They believe that something is bad in the blood, so House volunteers to have the blood put into him.

Thirteen gives the blood to House and he tries to get more info out of her. He deduces that her mother died in her young thirties (he saw a photo in her wallet and then he googled her obituary). Turns out her mother had Huntington’s, and she thinks she’s showing signs of Huntington’s.

House switched the coffee she was drinking, making her start shaking, which made her think she truly had it. She notices that House is sweating with a fever and that he’s sick from the blood.

House refuses to believe that he’s sick from the transfusion, but the room suddenly starts spinning for him. Someone spikes his coffee and he falls to the floor. Cole and Thirteen get the samples they were after but we still don’t know who drugged House. House wakes up and Thirteen gets the liver sample without using lidocaine.

House: You drugged me.
Thirteen: You drugged me.

Wilson comes into House’s office and wonders why House risked his life…again.

House: I usually like to make Foreman do all the dangerous stuff, but I’m the only one that’s type AB
Wilson: That’s right – type AB – universal recipient – you take from everybody.
House: You’re type O – universal donor.
Wilson: Wait – how do you know my blood type. Did you test me for something? Who the hell goes around talking about blood types?

House gets that “oh – I got it look on his face and heads to see the patient. He discovers that the patient is type A and he was given the wrong type of blood. The patient is type A, but his body makes type B antibodies because…dun dun dun…the patient has LUPUS!

House: I finally have a case with Lupus.

Back in the lecture hall and Cole nominates Amber and Kutner (even though they’re friends). House wants to know why Kutner was nominated.

House: He was right about this being a case – he was right about the botched blood transfusion, and he’s your love nugget.

House discovers that Cole went to Cuddy and made a deal to put the two people she wanted up on the block, so he fires Cole.

Cole: You’re all about breaking rules.
House: Her rules, not mine.

Thirteen goes into House’s office with an envelope that contains the results of her test to see if she’s got Huntington’s. She’s mad.

Thirteen: You know that when you run out of questions you don’t just run out of answers – you run out of hope.

She leaves the office and we see House drop the envelope into the trash.

So what did you think of tonight’s episode! And what about the preview for next weeks?!
